5.0Loved the spa’s tailored approach to wellbeing. Amazing range of products and services. Infrared sauna and red light quality was exactly what I’ve been searching for. Looking forward to my next appointment ☺️
5.0Fabulous massage with Marii, worth every cent. Not only was it exactly what I needed, but Marii was very knowledgeable about the body and how to reduce cortisol levels to improve sleep and reduce stress. She spent time with me after the massage to show me where the points of tension are in my body and what I can do at home every day to help reduce that tension. I was literally lying there during my massage thinking, “maybe I should move to Darwin so I can come here every week!”. Highly recommend.
2.0Arrived at 1:30pm for my 1:40pm appointment. Front door locked and greeted with a sign with instructions on how to get ready for your treatment (outside in the hot Darwin sun). Eventually the door opens by the manager who is also the receptionist and masseuse. Tells me to come in and sit down and gets me a refreshing coconut drink. When I finish it, I attempt to follow her to the room but she sharply turns around and tells me “sit down, you’re early and your treatment hasn’t started yet” It’s 1:43pm at this stage and I’m confused. Eventually moves me to a more comfortable chair overlooking the water and I can hear her banging on the shower door of the previous customer telling them to “hurry up” and asking “are you finished yet ?” After a while, I’m finally brought in for my massage which started at 2:06pm and finished at 3:15pm. Just over one hour. (Going by the tiny black clock in the room) I had booked the 60 minute aromatherapy hot stone massage with a $49 add-on (Bare Foot Botanical Indulgence) which I presumed would be a seperate treatment and not incorporated into the one- hour massage. So basically $256.15 for a 1 hour massage !! Then afterwards you’re hit with an additional 10% weekend surcharge which is apparently mentioned on the website. A badly run, overpriced business in my opinion. It’s a shame, because the spa itself is beautiful and location is stunning and the owner does seem knowledgeable with the essential oils and reflexology etc. Advanced Body Image/ Spa Lotus Berrimah do an amazing package for 2hrs 15mins including facial, massage, steam temple with clean white bath robes and slippers, toiletries and shower etc for $220. Go to Spa Lotus and get your moneys worth and feel truly pampered.
1.0I booked an appointment online and intended to use a $100 voucher for full payment of a $99 service. My intention to use a voucher was noted in the booking. I received a call 45mins before the appointment to advise she was "about to go into a 45minute massage" and asking me to take a seat when I arrived. I was thankful for this call as I always arrive early and was actually already on my way. I turned up at two minutes before my appointment time. The door was locked so had to sit outside in the humidity on a cramped chair (a blow up Santa was taking up over other half) for 15mins before I was greated, however, no big deal, I was about to have a relaxing appointment :). She takes me inside and gets me to read a laminated flyer, at the bottom it says "surcharges- credit card fee Sat 10%, Sun or Public 20%" I think no worries, I am using a voucher and my booking amount owing was confirmed online so no credit card surcharge for me today. She then proceeds to continue providing a consult to her previous client, who has now come out of the massage room, and at the same time trying to demand that I pay a 10% surcharge in addition to the voucher amount before she will conduct my appointment. She gets out her phone and shows me conditions of booking (which you have to click into from the main website page before even selecting a service or appointment day). I tried to reason that the wording on her flyer does not read as she thinks it does. She thinks it says "weekend surcharge regardless of payment method". I have the screenshot from the online booking that says "deposit paid now $1.25" and "to pay at appointment $97.75" and she argues this, all while also trying to sell products to this other person. I try to explain that the $100 voucher will cover the $99 treatment in full. I also questioned why her online system doesn't automatically include this "surcharge" when a booking is made for a weekend treatment. She has now refused to provide me with anything and asked me to leave. If it was possible to give 0 stars I would.
1.0I encourage people to read the other 1-star reviews carefully before spending their money here. Over the past few years I made multiple attempts to use a $250 gift voucher (via the “Gift Voucher Link” and email) and later attempted to redeem it for products after being advised in writing that this was allowed. When I tried using the voucher online for products, I was told the voucher code apparently “did not exist”. After multiple interactions with the business and what felt like an Olympic-level obstacle course disguised as an online booking process, I genuinely did not feel comfortable attending the spa myself. To avoid wasting the voucher, I gave it to a friend. My friend then used the voucher code to make a booking which was accepted by the business during booking and on arrival, and the treatment proceeded without issue. It was only after the service was completed that she was told the voucher was non-transferable and required to pay an additional $255. To be fair, I fully acknowledge the voucher terms did state it was non-transferable, and I take responsibility for attempting to gift it to a friend. Still trying not to waste the voucher entirely, I again attempted to use it toward products, despite previously being told in writing this was possible, that option was later refused. So the final outcome is: the business keeps the $250, my friend pays another $255, and somehow nobody involved actually receives the benefit of the original voucher. Rather than trying to reasonably resolve a situation involving conflicting advice and booking issues, the responses felt dismissive, defensive and unnecessarily hostile.
