What patients say
5.0Dr Anne O'Neill was fantastic, she was professional and very friendly. The practice staff were also excellent, and my appointment was essentially on schedule. The other reviews aren't reflective of the true service at this clinic, if you Read and Follow the instructions you'll have a great experience and exceptional dermatological care.
2.0Dr Wells is an outstanding dermatologist. She is highly professional, caring, and I have always felt confident under her care. The only downside is the experience with one receptionist, who has consistently made booking and communication unpleasant. Despite being a long-term patient and advised by Dr Wells to attend regular reviews, I was often refused appointments even when calling months in advance, and sometimes spoken to in a dismissive way. It’s unfortunate because this doesn’t reflect the excellent standard of care provided by Dr Wells. I hope the practice can improve in this area, as patients deserve to experience the same level of respect and professionalism from the whole team.
1.0Dr O’Neill is a brilliant dermatologist. Unfortunately, the booking practices at her clinic are unfair. I used to wait for many months to see the doctor & that was fine. Now patients have to call on the first business day of the month to book an appointment 3 months ahead. I called on the 2nd business day in May and the receptionist told me that bookings were closed for August. She said I would have to call back on the 1st working day of June to book an appointment in September. I have a family history of melanoma. I don’t know if I have a melanoma growing on my skin right now. That is why I go to a dermatologist. I don’t go to get aesthetic beauty boosts. I feel as if my only alternative is to go to a you-beaut bulk-billing skin clinic and hope for the best. There aren’t many dermatologists in my area. I don’t know if there are other specialists of Dr O’Neill’s calibre. If anyone can recommend another doctor, I’d love to hear about it. It seems to me that the receptionist doesn’t want to work too hard. I would love to know if there is a valid reason for this practices weird booking system.
1.0I have been ringing since 7.58 am on the first of the month, July 1, to make an appointment to see Dr O'Neill. I know the number is correct as the recorded voice at the other end indicated to me that the phone call was going through. I rang again at 8.01 to get an engaged signal. I rang again at 8.03, again engaged. I rang again at 8.04 but all I got was silence so no call possible. I kept ringing repeatedly only to hear nothing at all at the other end. It is now 8.26 am - still a dead zone at the other end. I will continue to try but this is a ridiculous arrangement - like playing Russian roulette. It is now 8.32 - still a dead zone on the phone. If I was in Sydney I'd turn up in person at 8 am but as I live 700 k away, I can only use a phone to make an appointment. 8.41 - dead at the other end of the line. 8.51 - dead zone. 8.52 - engaged signal. 8.53 - dead zone. 8.55 - dead zone. 9.00 am - dead zone. Still playing Russian roulette at 9.15 am. Finally got through at 9.27 am - ever hopeful, I listened to the Covid message then it went through to dial tone then another recorded voice told me that they were busy and to call again...I will continue to try but this is a contemptuous way to treat patients. 9.57 am - finally got through...again...only to be told by recorded message to ring back again. Finally got through at 10.11 am only to be told there were no available appointments.
1.0Find an alternative surgery - unhelpful, rude. Avoid at all costs.
