5.0I had such a wonderful experience with Dr Bruna, dermatologist. She is professional, caring, and makes me feel comfortable during my appointment. She takes the time to listen to my concerns and explains everything clearly. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and kind dermatologist. The receptionists were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better.
5.0I had such a positive experience at Northern Sydney Dermatology and Laser. Alicia is an exceptional dermatologist — warm, caring, professional and incredibly efficient. She has a calm and reassuring manner, takes the time to listen, and explains everything so clearly. Her communication is outstanding and I always feel genuinely cared for and completely at ease in her hands. I’m so grateful to have found her and would highly recommend both Alicia and the clinic to anyone seeking expert dermatological care. Nicole
5.0My fiancée saw Dr. Lachlan Byth this week and we’ve walked away from the consultation incredibly pleased. He explained what her options are calmly, clearly, confidently and without overpromising outcomes. This has given us complete trust in the plan going forward. She’s now started her prescription medication and now returns in a couple months for her laser therapy. We’re glad we made the trip in to see Dr. Byth! The clinic as well is very clean and modern. Staff have been pleasant to deal with. You can tell straight away how much pride and investment the Principal Dermatologists have in their clinic. Clinic fees are very reasonable in my opinion as well. Honestly, for the expertise and length of time and training it takes to even be able to call yourself a Consultant Dermatologist, the fees (including treatment fees such as laser) are very fair.
5.0I was referred by my GP to Northern Sydney Dermatology to check out a dodgy mole and had my appointment with Dr Shreya this morning. It was honestly such a great experience - the clinic is super nice and clean, they were able to fit me in quite quickly and also remove the mole on the same day as my consult. Dr Shreya and Nurse Sally were super nice, knowledgeable and just generally awesome. I’d definitely recommend the clinic!
1.0I attended this clinic for acne treatment with Dr Shreya Andric and was prescribed minocycline. Around 3 weeks after starting the medication exactly as prescribed, I developed severe chest pain and a widespread rash. I visited my local GP, who advised me to immediately stop the medication, and thankfully the symptoms resolved over the following week. During my first consultation (which was only a month ago), Dr Andric had already discussed multiple treatment options with me, taken clinical photos of my acne, discussed my teenage acne history, current acne history, skincare routine, what treatments I had and had not tried, and recommended which face wash, moisturiser, sunscreen, and topical ointments I should use. So when I contacted the clinic after what appeared to be an allergic reaction, I expected at least some flexibility and understanding. The clinic contacted me back a few days later and told me I would need to come in again. I said I was happy to come in, but asked “I have to pay the full $310 follow-up fee when I just came in a month ago?” considering this appointment would purely be due to a reaction from the prescribed medication. I explained that this consultation would not require repeating everything that had already been covered in my first appointment. Dr Andric would not need to re-discuss my teenage acne history, current acne history, skincare routine, what treatments I had and had not tried, or re-discuss which face wash, moisturiser, sunscreen, and topical ointments I should use, because all of that had already been done in the first consultation. My concern was specifically that I had reacted to the prescribed medication and needed a safe alternative. I even asked the receptionist, hypothetically, if I reacted to another medication prescribed by the doctor next week, would I again be expected to come in and pay another full fee, and his response was: “yes obviously.” What disappointed me most was not even the fee itself, but the complete lack of empathy throughout the conversation. At no point was there any acknowledgment that this situation was stressful or expensive. I explained that I am an international student paying entirely out of pocket without Medicare, and still received no understanding whatsoever. The receptionist repeatedly just kept saying “that’s how it is.” I then asked, “As a patient, are you not going to give me any other option?” and he responded by saying my other option was to wait until August for my originally scheduled follow-up appointment. I explained that the whole purpose of a follow-up appointment is to review how a patient is going on the medication they were prescribed. In my case, I was no longer even on the medication because I had developed what appeared to be an allergic reaction and had been advised by my GP to stop taking it immediately. So being told to simply wait until August made no sense to me, because I was currently left without treatment due to the reaction. Honestly, that “option” felt more like ragebait than an actual attempt to help resolve the situation. I then asked if he could at least explain my perspective to the doctor and see whether there could be any flexibility regarding the fee. He said okay and ended the call abruptly without even allowing me to finish the conversation. I later received another call saying there would be no flexibility and the fee would not be reduced. By the end of the interaction, I no longer felt valued or heard as a patient, so I cancelled all future appointments with the clinic. There was also no consideration whatsoever of any reduced fees. I understand doctors deserve to be paid for their time. However, charging another full specialist fee simply to discuss an allergic reaction and switch to an already-discussed alternative treatment felt unreasonable and very disappointing. The entire experience felt extremely dismissive and transactional.
