What patients say
5.0I was referred to Quayside by my GP who recommended the prompt removal of a Squamous Cell Carcinoma from my scalp last year. I was privileged to be referred to Specialist Plastic Surgeon, Dr Maryam Seyedebadi. Words cannot describe the esteem of which I hold Dr Maryam. Her attention to detail and her professional explanation of the procedure that she was planning to perform, were warmly received and greatly appreciated and immediately put me at ease. Her calming demeanor, friendliness and empathy placed me in an optimistic frame of mind. My initial contact was via reception to engage my initial appointment. I was greeted on the phone by dedicated, sincere and professional staff who understood my concerns and arranged a prompt appointment to see Dr Maryam. Upon arriving for my appointment, it was clearly evident that the reception staff maintain high ethical standards, and display genuine consideration for their patients. A special thank you to Amy, Natalie and Wing, who although they were the main points of contact for me on most occasions, everyone at this clinic is highly motivated, professional and courteous. It is evident they all love what they do and do it so well with a passion for excellence. The removal of my benign SCC by the highly skilled and competent Dr Maryam thankfully required no skin grafts from my plastic surgery procedure which is now well on the way to being completely healed. After surgery, my weekly check-ups, applying fresh dressings and removal of sutures etc were maintained and performed by Senior Nurse Adriana. I cannot thank Adriana enough for her dedication, compassion and genuine concern for my comfort and wellbeing during an awkward time going through the (slow) healing process. I remain eternally thankful for Adriana’s attention to detail and professional care and support. Overall, I was blessed to have been referred to this clinic and remain forever grateful to everyone for their positive actions and support during a difficult time in my life. Their high ethics, conduct, professionalism, high standards and courtesy are second to none and I highly recommend this clinic to anyone requiring to avail themselves of their superior services.
5.0Late last year I had a BCC removed from my right nostril. It had gone all the way through. I had to have reconstructive surgery done to rebuild the nostril. Very lucky for me my dermatologist worked with Dr Leo Kim of Quayside Specialists. During the two months and three surgeries Dr Kim, the nurses and staff at Quayside were fantastic. They were gentle, incredibly friendly, efficient and happily answered my many questions and eased my anxiety. Dr Kim was a miracle worker. A week and a half after my last surgery my nose looked normal and you could hardly see that anything had been done. Thankyou so much, Dr Kim and everyone at Quayside Specialists. I could not have been in better hands.
5.0Dr. Kim is a skilled plastic surgeon who operated on me for reconstructive surgery following Mohs surgery. He provided exceptional professional care, and was kind and caring throughout what is a confronting procedure . The nursing staff at the clinic work closely with Dr. Kim, offering consistent support and attention throughout the treatment and recovery process. Together, they ensured I was informed and cared for every step along the way. I highly recommend them and thank them so much for their care.
5.0Big thanks to Dr Leo Kim and his team, I'm now 6 months post surgery and I couldn't be happier with my results! Dr Leo Kim, his anaesthetist Dr Mega Jain and Sydney Day Hospital were the absolute dream team. This year I went into hospital 3 times for 3 different (unrelated) procedures and the difference between hospitals, care and comfort was huge. With Dr Kim I felt informed, safe and knew I was in the hands of experts the whole time. Surgery can be scary, especially in an area as prominent as the face, so when choosing a surgeon you want someone qualified, compassionate and with a proven track record. Dr Leo Kim ticks all the boxes.
1.0I am writing this review to share my full experience so others can make an informed decision. I chose Quayside Specialists and proceeded with a women’s intimate cosmetic procedure under the care of Dr Maryam Seyedabadi based on the assurances I was given before surgery. At that stage, when payment was involved, I was given repeated promises, reassurance, and confidence that my concerns would be addressed and that I was in expert hands. Unfortunately, the reality after surgery was completely different. The outcome was not an improvement. A clear and visible issue was created that did not exist prior to surgery, along with ongoing physical discomfort that affects my daily life. This is not subjective dissatisfaction the problem is obvious and has been acknowledged. When I raised these concerns and requested a revision to correct what had gone wrong, I was shocked by the response. Despite the issue being clearly identifiable and despite it being evident that a mistake had occurred, I was told that I would need to pay again specifically, I was asked to cover a significant portion of the costs for revision surgery. I cannot understand why I should be required to pay again to fix an error that resulted from the surgeon’s work. This is where the entire dynamic changed. Instead of taking responsibility, Dr Maryam Seyedabadi shifted the focus onto me. I was questioned, dismissed, and spoken to in a manner that felt belittling and unprofessional. There was no accountability, no genuine apology, and no attempt to handle the situation in a way that reflects the standards expected of a medical professional. The contrast in behaviour before and after money became an issue was striking. Before surgery, I was met with warmth, confidence, and assurances. Once it became clear that correcting the problem would not be financially beneficial, the tone changed completely. The support disappeared, responsibility was avoided, and I was effectively pushed aside. What made this even worse was the lack of professional conduct. Rather than addressing the medical issue respectfully, I was made to feel undermined and ridiculed. This was not the behaviour of a doctor acting in a patient’s best interests. Cosmetic surgery is undertaken to improve a patient’s quality of life not to leave them physically uncomfortable, emotionally distressed, and then expected to pay again to fix a problem they did not create. This matter has now escalated to formal complaints with regulatory authorities due to the refusal to take responsibility and the way this situation was handled. That decision was not made lightly, but I was left with no other option. The clinic team’s conduct throughout this process only reinforced the lack of accountability and professionalism. I strongly advise anyone considering treatment at Quayside Specialists, particularly with Dr Maryam Seyedabadi, to ask very clear questions about what happens if something goes wrong, who bears responsibility, and how revision requests are truly handled once financial interests are affected. My experience has been deeply disappointing, and I would not wish it on anyone.
