I paid in full for a microneedling treatment and attended my appointment as scheduled. On arrival, I was turned away and refused the service due to what staff identified as a keloid scar on my arm, even though the microneedling was for my face! This issue was not clearly identified or communicated prior to taking my payment. What followed was even more concerning. After refusing to provide the service on the basis that it was a keloid scar, the clinic then required me to obtain and pay for a medical certificate to confirm that it is in fact a keloid—just to access a refund. The clinic made the decision to refuse treatment based on their own assessment, but is now requiring me to spend additional money to verify that same assessment in order to get my money back. This was never disclosed at the time of purchase and places an unfair and unreasonable burden on the customer. I attended in good faith, was willing to proceed, and was turned away. Being denied the service and then made to jump through extra hoops to recover my money is extremely disappointing. I strongly recommend others ensure they are fully assessed before paying, as refunds may not be straightforward—even when the service is not provided.
